Fishmongers packed the central market in the morning. Salmon and more salmon . . . Fish glinted in the sun, sardines, trout, lobster, shellfish and all manner of shrimps and prawns. The sea harvest radiated freshness. I had not seen fresh fish like that since visiting the Kuromon market in Osaka before I left Japan. (from "Against the Wind" - Poolbeg Press)
