I dropped in on him unannounced, but Mr Brennan, the
cultural attache at the Irish Embassy, greeted me with a
smile. He listened to my story with deep interest, then gave
me detailed information about accommodation and the ferry
timetables.
“When you get to Dublin, make sure that the very next
thing you do is tour round Ireland.” He presented me with a
